MOVE
AROUND TOWN |
Nice has a train station, with
regional (Cannes, Antibes, Monaco,
Grasse, etc...) lines. It also welcomes
lines to Italy, Paris and all the
European capitals.
Around town, a very well developped bus infrastructure will take
you from one place to another for 1 €. Soon, the tramway will
also help move around town. |
GO
OUT |
Nice is the 5th city of France,
so you can expect to find whatever
you are looking for, from culture
to leisure! Lots of beaches are
public (free) ones, with either
sand or pebbles..
You will find all sorts of restaurants, caffes and snacks around
town, serving from a sandwich (2 €) to sophisticated haute
cuisine.
Nice is a very lively city at night, with casinos,
discotheques, restaurants and caffes open all night long, during
the summer or even in the winter (because of the 10,000 university
students present in the city).
One of the main event is of course the Carnaval in February. |

Nice is a land of creation, innovation,
research and cultural exchange and not just
a land of tourism and leisure.
There is no doubt whatsoever about the success
of Nice as a first class resort throughout
the world. One may ask the reasons for such
renown. Is it the mildness of the climate
that is condsidered to be sub-tropical? Or
is it the diversity of the landscapes, the
richness of the flora, the beauty of the
great Mediterranean Sea? In fact, everything
is accentuated in Nice, the light is so bright
that the colors are flashing. The pines are
green and happily rubbing shoulders with
the blue shades of the Mediterranean Sea
and sky. The sun highlights the yellow hue
of the flowers, and the ochre sides of the
homes, in a natural setting of rocks and
hills. It is indeed easy to understand the
fascination exerted by the Côte d'Azur
on those artists, painters, writers, sculptors
and musicians who contributed to her fame
and to whom the museums of Nice have paid
a deserved tribute.
If the Carnival of Nice has been for a long
time the major tourist event of Nice, now,
there are numerous international events which
are giving a rhythm to the life of the town,
such as the Nice Jazz Festival, without mentioning
the sportive meetings - Nikaïa, Triathlon,
Semi-Marathon. In the same time, the cultural
aspects are generating an intense artistic
life.If the Carnival of Nice has been for
